Hi there! I am Ana, and I am the Learning for Sustainability Frontrunner this year. I’m really excited to be a part of the Sustainability team, to be able to create new programmes so that we can make campus a more sustainable place, and to find ways to integrate sustainability in DMU’s learning agenda!
I am currently in my 3rd year of International Relations and Journalism, and I am particularly interested in Environmental Politics, and how political relations and ideologies affect the environment. In the future, I hope to be able to contribute to the sustainability agenda, and to help as many people to have a more sustainable lifestyle.
Outside the academic world, I enjoy writing about Fashion, Health & Lifestyle, and I tend to focus more on how to find sustainable alternatives to products that are already part of our daily lives. It is interesting to see how much of a positive impact a very small change can have on the environment, and this keeps me inspired to make even more!
Sustainability for me is a compilation of ethical and conscious decisions when it comes to consumerism. Being more aware of the products we buy, whether we need them or not, if they are made ethically, and if they are reusable/recyclable.
All these small changes and conscious decisions compilate and make a huge difference in the long term, and everyone can be a part of it, you just have to start!
