Students at DMU and across the UK consistently report that embedding sustainability education within taught courses is a priority for them (Students’ Views). For students new to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), the resources below have been compiled to aid this process.

Carbon Literacy: Training that provides university students with carbon literacy accreditation, enabling them to deliver carbon literacy training in schools across the Leicester community and beyond.

NUS Sustainability: DMU participates in several National Union of Students projects to promote sustainability, including Responsible Futures and Student Switch Off.

Student Societies at De Montfort: Some societies have an explicit focus on contributing to sustainable development such as The Model UN society and Enactus, which promotes social enterprise. Others are strongly supportive of linking the Sustainable Development Goals to their main activities.

#DMULocal: Work with partners across Leicester on projects and volunteering opportunities that enhance our city.

#DMUGlobal: Transformative international experiences for DMU students that contribute to addressing the UN SDGs.

DMU Student Experiences: Examples of students’ experiences at DMU across a range of programmes.

Sustainable Development Goals Online: Provided by Taylor & Francis, SDGO is an interdisciplinary collection of digital content developed to support teaching, learning and research in the fields associated with the SDGs. DMU students will be asked to log in with their Single Sign On credentials for on and off campus access.
