Hi Everyone! My name is Casey and I’m the 25/26 Learning for Sustainability Frontrunner. I am very eager to get working on impactful projects alongside the sustainability team, fellow students and academics.
Just a little about me…
I am a third year Energy Engineering student with a passion for low carbon technologies and sustainable energy solutions. I applied for the role of Learning for Sustainability Frontrunner to open myself up to the other aspects of sustainability (outside energy). I am now learning more about increasing awareness and outreach around climate change and sustainable practices. This can make a significant impact for our generation and for generations to come.
About my role
As a Learning for Sustainability Frontrunner I will be working with the sustainability team to embed sustainability within the teaching and learning at DMU. Here is a small snapshot of what being a sustainability frontrunner involves:
- Promoting the annual SOS survey, SEED grants, COP events and general sustainability events
- Panelist for the SEED grants
- Delivering carbon literacy sessions- working towards facilitator titles
- Promoting and embodying sustainable practices across campus
