Hello everyone I’m Oluwatomiwa (tomiwa for short) and I’m the Sustainability Communications Frontrunner! I’m really excited about increasing the physical and digital presence of sustainability to everyone at our university, especially our fellow students and staff.
A few things about me are..
I’m a third year media and communications student who loves media and speaking to people about important causes like sustainability. I applied for the role of Sustainability Communications Frontrunner because it’s a combination of things I would love to grow in, Sustainability as a whole and media. I am learning about the current initiatives concerning sustainability that the university already has and how I can further make a significant change in the understanding of sustainability and how important it is to our society.
About my role
As the Sustainability communications Frontrunner, I will be working with the sustainability team to increase our presence at the university promoting everything we do. Here are some of my responsibilities:
- Promoting sustainability projects and events on digital and physical platforms.
- Delivering carbon literacy sessions- working towards the facilitator titles
- Collaborating with other universities and organizations concerning sustainability initiatives and how they can be improved.
- Embodying sustainable practices across campus
